YouTube Shorts Fund It is a $100M fund to award creators for their commitment to making creative, original Shorts that delight the YouTube community. YouTube will reach out to creators each month to tell them they qualify for a Shorts bonus from the fund. Qualifying channels can earn between $100–$10,000 a month.
Bonuses are accommodated based on the location of a creator’s audience. As a result, the viewership and engagement required to qualify may vary between creators.
Payments are transferred to the channel’s linked AdSense account. Tax withholding and compliance with other AdSense policies are mandated to receive money. To be qualified for a bonus from the YouTube Shorts Fund: Channels must have uploaded at least one eligible Short in the last 180 days.
Creators will be notified that they entitle via email and notification in the YouTube app after the first week of each month. Both the email & notification will include the payment of the bonus and steps on how to claim it.
Qualifying creators should get these notifications shortly in the first week of month. They will have until the 25th of each month to claim the bonus, or it may expire.
Channels must dwell by YouTube’s Community Guidelines, copyright rules, and monetization policies. Channels must upload authentic content. Ineligible videos include but are not limited to following :
  • Videos are reuploaded from other creators’ channels or platforms, including compilations. Non-original videos- like unedited clips from movies or TV shows.
  • Videos with watermarks & logos from third-party digital platforms. Videos with hashtags, titles, or metadata that references third-party social media platforms are also not qualified. Links to your other social media do not impact eligibility.
  • Creators should be 13 or older in the US or age of majority in their country/region.
  • Youtubers 13–18 years old must have a parent or guardian abide terms and set up an AdSense account for payment when one is not linked to their channel.
  • Youtuber must be in one of these countries/regions:
    Channels do not need to be presently monetizing on YouTube to be qualified. Creators in the YouTube Partner Program & channels affiliated with a Multi-Channel Network (MCN) are also qualified.
    How to claim the Shorts bonus from the Shorts Fund? Qualifying creators will select CLAIM BONUS in the email or in-app notification.
    From this page, Shorts Fund page in YouTube Studio creators need to complete two steps to claim their bonus:
  • Accept the bonus terms.
  • Set up or link an AdSense account.
    Your bonus will be claimed after finishing these two steps for channels with an active and linked AdSense account or those obtaining payment from an MCN or network. If you set up an new AdSense account, it will take a few days for YouTube to create & link the AdSense account to your channel. YouTube will email you once the account is connected and confirm whether your bonus has been claimed.
